The wintry, snow-covered Alpe di Siusi is a true paradise for cross-country ski enthusiasts. The seemingly endless wide open spaces, the gently rolling hills, the sunny dells, the forest, and the meadows – and everything against the magnificent backdrop of the towering Dolomites – invite you to explore them on cross-country skis. Cross-country ski enthusiasts can choose from 80 km of courses of different levels of diffi culty and different lengths: from just 2 kilometers for beginners up to 15 kilometers. All of the cross-country ski courses have double lanes and are prepared for skating.
A 7.5 km trail links Alpe di Siusi to Val Gardena which is a paradise for crosscountry skiing fans, too. The valley offers a fantastic background, starting from the 12 km trail in Vallunga (Selva) that goes from the Carabinieri sports centre to the end of the valley. For those who don’t have the equipment there are a ski-hire and a ski school. In the new cross-country skiing centre at Monte Pana (S. Cristina) you fi nd nine circular trails from 1 to 8 km through the undulating landscape of woods and meadows at 1636 m. Here everyone finds something: easy or medium, skating or classic.
