For the past 30 years the Gsieser Tal-Lauf, a cross-country race, takes place on the third weekend in February. This is the biggest event in South Tyrol with 2,300 participants and the second-biggest in Italy.
Start and goal for the circular track is S. Martino in Valle di Casies. The distances are 30 km and 40 km - classic and skating. Both races are also valid for the Euroloppet series "Gran Fondo Mastertour" and the "Italian Ranking". Furthermore, on Saturday afternoon there is a kids race called "Minigsieser".
Participants without sporty ambitious participate in the "Just for Fun" group.
